The action entertainer Bellbottom released last week to positive feedback from the critics, however, the box office figures did not reflect the same. Trade analysists stated that the reason behind this slow start was the prevailing Covid-19 protocols and the fact that the film released on a weekday. In fact, it was predicted that Bellbottom would see an increase in business over the weekend. Now keeping to predictions the business of Bellbottom saw good growth on Day 4. Sunday being the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan witnessed the collections of the film increase by nearly 45% over Day 3. In fact, Bellbottom managed to draw in a further Rs. 4.40 cr. on Sunday taking its cumulative four day total collections to Rs. 12.75 cr. Interestingly, Bellbottom has managed to garner one of the biggest tally of footfalls since cinemas reopened. The national multiplex chains also witnessed a spike in the collections.The word of mouth is also helping in the footfalls. Meanwhile, majority state governments are taking the calls on lifting the lockdown restrictions. The Uttar Pradesh government has also lifted the lockdown restrictions for Sundays. Cinema halls will now be allowed to operate on Sundays with the last show to be over by 10 pm given the restriction of a night curfew. From Monday, August 23, cinemas in the state of Tamil Nadu have been given permission to reopen at 50% capacity. The Delhi administration has also permitted cinemas to conduct night shows from August 23.Currently, all eyes are on the film’s Monday collections. Will Bellbottom manage to survive the crucial first Monday test is the prime question. But, trade experts opine that given the film’s buzz and the appreciation it has been receiving from the audience, the business of Bellbottom will remain rather stable. At this rate, predictions state that Bellbottom could end its theatrical run with a total collections of approx.
